a few years ago this Recreation of the Spring Hill Redoubt was completed, sitting across the field from the remains of the Original .

A 10ft V-shaped trench was dug on all four sides of the square interior walls. the debris from the trench was piled up onto the wooden walls making the structure extremely durable. this mound is referred to as a parapet. large wooden piles would line the trenches making them quite impenetrable.

These 800 stone markers serve as a memorial to the 800 American and French forces that died during the siege. The stones are aligned as if they were a column of soldiers marching towards the Redoubt.
